How to style a maxi dress and jumpsuit 3 ways

Y’all,  if there is one thing I love, it’s taking a maxi dress or jumpsuit and being able to style it multiple ways! They’re such great pieces to own because of their versatility.

Let’s first start off with this maxi dress- this maxi dress is an amazon find. It runs TTS, comes in several colors and is under $25. If that didn’t get you excited, it also has pockets!! (okay and it’s a t shirt super soft I kind of want to sleep in it and wear it around the house type of feel to it too)

So, let’s style the dang thing!

First off, let’s start basic.

#1-  I call this the , “oh crap I’m running late, I have one thing to grab as I’m running out the door and…..it’s this hat”

Let’s face it, it should come as no surprise that this hat is also from amazon and is under $17! The brown and blue contrast beautifully and voila, you look like a put together human for the day! I’m also wearing my favorite kendra scott short necklace for the last touch 🙂

#2- I’m sassy and I know it

I put on this leather jacket and the sassiness just comes out! Wear your favorite moto jacket, denim jacket, etc. over this maxi dress for the same effect. I added a layered necklace (under $20) and matching gold earrings to finish it off. Jacket runs TTS and is currently on sale for under $70!

#3 I’m blue da ba dee da ba daa (if you don’t get this song reference, I can’t help you

This is by far my favorite look- the chambray top over this maxi dress is perfection. I unbottoned the top, tied it at the bottom, then buttoned up two so the neck line still showed off part of the dress. The layered necklace (linked above) was the finishing touch for this look. Chambray top runs TTS- under $20.

Onwards and upwards then….to the jumpsuit!

This target jumpsuit runs TTS and is under $30. I like how the straps are adjustable (you can knot them at the top for the desired length) and it has a cinched waist with a tie so you don’t lose your figure in the jumpsuit. & yes, there are pockets!!!! Okay, pockets are important to me. Ya know…for lipgloss. So it’s always poppin’.

#1- on Wednesday’s we wear pink

Okay okay, first of all, if you haven’t gotten this madewell crewneck t shirt, you are truly missing out. It’s under $15, so cozy and soft and I sized up one to a medium for a roomier fit. It contrasts so beautifully with the navy blue! Pink isn’t your color? Pick another “pop” of color. Yellow and white would contrast just as well here- even a sky blue t shirt to contrast the navy! Wearing my kendra scott short necklace ( linked above) and these neutral target flats ( last season, sadly).

2. Casual chic

Since it’s still a little chilly here in Baltimore, layering a long sleeve t shirt under this jumpsuit is perfect for Spring.  You could even add a baseball hat here to make it a bit sportier. To keep it casual, I styled the outfit with these Steve Madden kicks. Steve Madden shoes run TTS- pricey but worth it!

#3- that jacket looks familiar…

…that’s because it is!!! I’m not kidding when I say you’ll see me in this jacket all spring long. It took this jumpsuit from casual to dressed up in 2 seconds ( maybe 5 seconds depending how quickly I can sling my second arm through the jacket). I topped off this look with my favorite Michael Kors pumps and I’m ready for pizza date night! (because the waist band is elastic TG so I can untie it and make it looser after dinner….and dessert….). On a side note, I’ve had these MK heels for years and they are hands down the most comfortable I know, they run TTS and are currently 25% off making them under $75.

I hope this post helps you if you’re looking for some budget friendly ways to wear some maxi dresses and jumpsuits during the spring season 🙂 Have a great day y’all! xoxo, Ash
